Great food. Historic ambience. Local, craft beer, Nova Scotia wines and a full bar. "The Shoe" is in the heart of Gaelic Cape Breton and is a culture hearth for the Gaelic culture and Celtic music. THE SHOE is owned by the Rankin sisters, of the famous musical family. Expect a warm welcome. You will leave with your heart and s stomach full and your spirit soaring!

Went here for dinner during a recent golf outing from the US with three other guys. It was a hopping place and the live music seemed authentic for the region. We did, however, feel as though we were treated like outsiders by the hostess and the wait staff. We were not permitted to get drinks from the bar while waiting for our table, even though there were several available seats. We were then seated outside, away from the music and all of the locals that were enjoying it. Our food took a very long time to come out, and tables around us got their food promptly. The food was pretty good. We all felt that we were shortchanged on getting the experience that we had read about online.

Chicken was chewy/no flavor. Also overpriced!

Great menu - share an appetizer or enjoy an entree. Food is great. Recommend The Red Shoe brew. Celtic music was absolutely wonderful! Loved it!

Went here for supper. Fairly crowded, luckily got a seat. Waitress was snotty. Menu is extremely limited. I ordered the Celtic Club, however it was nothing like a club I asked for.

When I walked in, it took several minutes for a waitress to greet me, and she seemed a bit cold. She sat me at a bar seat at the front. When other guests came in, I was asked to move into the corner to make room for them. I felt like a second-class citizen because I was dining alone. The restaurant was expensive, packed, loud, and didn't have wifi. I wasn't thrilled about my dining experience.
